Scope

This standard specifies the classification, characteristics, technical requirements, structure, and performance requirements of mine-used explosion-proof low-voltage electromagnetic starters (hereinafter referred to as starters), as well as the test methods, inspection rules, and requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, and storage.
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of starters used in coal mines to locally and remotely start and stop, reverse, and operate at two speeds three-phase squirrel-cage asynchronous motors in AC 50 Hz circuits with voltages up to 1,140 V, while providing protection for the motor and related circuits.
