Scope
This document defines the relevant terms and definitions of the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), describes the technical artifacts of CDA, specifies the requirements for exchanging CDA documents in HL7 messages, and provides the XML implementation of CDA R-MIN, CDA hierarchical description, and CDA.
The following content is not within the scope of this document:
——Clinical document data formats outside the exchange context (such as data formats used for storing clinical documents);
——HL7 messages specifically designed for the transmission of clinical documents;
——The creation and management of documents.
This document is applicable to the research and development and management of clinical documents for data exchange in healthcare information systems.
