Scope
This standard specifies the test equipment, specimens, specimen conditioning, test procedures, calculations, and test reports for the ultra-low temperature tensile properties of orientationally fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites. This standard is applicable to the determination of the in-plane tensile strength, tensile elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio, and tensile failure strain of continuous fiber (including fabrics)-reinforced polymer matrix composite laminates at temperatures ranging from -196 °C to -269 °C.
