GB/T 22472-2008 Tests for flammability of plastic materials for parts in devices and appliances

Scope

1.1 This standard applies to the determination of the flammability of plastics used in electrical installations and equipment components, in order to initially indicate whether the plastic is suitable for a specific application. 1.2 The test methods described in this standard involve standard-sized samples, which are used solely to measure and describe the combustion performance of materials used in instruments and equipment under controlled laboratory conditions in response to heat sources and flames. The actual response of the material to heat sources and flames depends on the size and shape of the sample, as well as the final use of the product in which the material is used. This standard cannot be used to evaluate other important characteristics in end applications, including (but not limited to) flammability, combustion speed, flame spread, energy release, intensity of combustion, and combustion products.
