Scope

This part of GB/T 13163 specifies the special requirements for instruments measuring the volume activity of airborne short-lived radon progeny and/or their environmental α-potential concentration in outdoor environments, residential buildings, and workplaces (including underground mines).
This part applies to almost all types of electronic instruments based on grab sampling, continuous sampling technology, and electronic integration measurement methods. The activity measurement on sampling devices (such as filters) can be carried out during the sampling process or after the sampling cycle is completed.
Various types of instruments used for measurement are specified in GB/T 13163.1—2009.
