Scope

This standard specifies the methods for determining the content and migration of 19 phthalate ester compounds, including dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), diallyl phthalate (DAP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), dimethoxyethyl phthalate (DMEP), bromomethylphthalate (BMPP), diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), dipentyl phthalate (DPP), dodecyl phthalate (DHXP), butylbenzyl phthalate (BBP), dibutoxyethyl phthalate (DBEP), dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), diphenyl phthalate (DPhP), dodecyl phthalate (DNOP), nonyl phthalate (DNP), and isononyl phthalate (DINP-1), as well as isodecyl phthalate (DIDP-1) and isooctyl phthalate (DINP-2) in food contact materials and products.
The first part of the standard applies to the determination of the content of 19 phthalate ester compounds in plastic, rubber, coatings, adhesives, and other food contact materials and products. The second part of the standard applies to the determination of the migration of 19 phthalate ester compounds in food contact materials and products.
