Scope

This standard specifies the performance of adjustable-height micrometers and their shim blocks. The measurement range of adjustable-height micrometers is 600 mm, and the graduation value should not exceed 2 μm. The height of the shim block is 600 mm. This standard applies to newly manufactured and currently in use adjustable-height micrometers (hereinafter referred to as "micrometers"). Note 1: When used in conjunction with shim blocks, the maximum measurement range of micrometers can be increased to 1,200 mm. Note 2: Digital display micrometers can be implemented according to the relevant provisions.
