Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the sound field distribution curve in a given workspace. A method is provided for determining two parameters that describe the acoustic performance of the workspace in terms of noise control based on measurement data: the excess sound pressure level relative to the free field, and the sound pressure level attenuation when the distance is doubled.
This standard applies to workspaces of any shape and size, as long as the number of microphone positions meets the requirements for regression calculations.
This standard does not apply to the evaluation of sound quality related to language communication or other psychological aspects.
