Scope

This standard specifies the method of direct ultrasonic testing of discontinuous pulse echoes in materials and components using electromagnetic acoustic transducers.
This standard is applicable to electromagnetic ultrasonic testing of plates with a thickness of 6 mm to 100 mm made of carbon steel, low-alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals. The electromagnetic ultrasonic testing of austenitic stainless steel, austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel, aluminum and aluminum alloy plates, titanium and titanium alloy plates, nickel and nickel alloy plates, etc. can be carried out in accordance with this standard. The electromagnetic ultrasonic testing of raw materials such as pipes and forgings can also be conducted with reference to this standard.
