Scope
This standard defines a reference model and conceptual framework for location-based services (LBS), and describes the basic principles for interoperability of LBS applications. The conceptual framework involves or includes ontology, classification systems, design patterns, and core LBS service abstraction specifications represented in UML. This standard also provides further explanations of the relationship between this conceptual framework and other frameworks, geographic information applications and services, and client applications.
