Scope
This standard specifies the test method for measuring the interfacial tensile and shear bonding strength of ceramics, ceramic-metal, and ceramic-glass composites at room temperature using the cross-cutting method. It also stipulates the sample preparation method, test mode and rate (loading rate and deformation rate), data collection and reporting procedures.
This standard is applicable to homogeneous bulk ceramics and various whisker, fiber, and particle-reinforced ceramic composites, and can also be used for adhesive strength testing.
