Scope

This document stipulates the basic requirements for elevator safety management of elevator-using management units, elevator safety management institutions and personnel, elevator safety management systems, elevator archives, elevator-related expenses, elevator use registration, cessation of use, regular inspections and regular testing, daily inspections and regular self-inspections, maintenance supervision, informatization, emergency special plans and accident handling, basic operating conditions, elevator keys, and markings. This document applies to elevator-using management units for traction-driven elevators, forced-driven elevators, hydraulic-driven elevators, escalators and automatic walkways, and other types of elevators (including explosion-proof elevators, firefighter elevators, and service elevators). This document does not apply to elevator-using management units of personal or individual household elevators.
