Scope

This part of GB/T 31586 specifies the test method for evaluating the resistance grade of coating systems by cutting the coating with a rectangular grid pattern (grid cutting) or an X-shaped pattern (cross-cutting) and penetrating to the substrate.
This part is only applicable when the grid cutting or cross-cutting method and the appropriate grade table are specified.
Note: The particularity of the coating may make it difficult to evaluate the results of the grid cutting or cross-cutting test.
This part also specifies the applicable equipment, defines the inspection area, sampling plan, and acceptance/rejection criteria.
