Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) preforms for beverage bottles (hereinafter referred to as PET preforms). This standard applies to preforms used for blowing beverage bottles, which are mainly made from PET resin for bottles and molded by injection molding. Preforms for other purposes may be implemented in accordance with this standard.
