Scope

This part of GB/T 26831 specifies the physical layer parameters of a local meter reading system ("local bus") for communication or meter reading between a battery-powered single reading device ("master station") and a single meter or a group of meters (up to 5 meters). The "master station" can temporarily or permanently connect to the meters directly (i.e., local meter reading), or connect to the meters via a fixed line or a small bus (with a maximum cable length of 50 m, i.e., local remote meter reading).
