Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the transverse fracture strength of hard alloys. This standard is applicable to hard alloys with very little plasticity. If it is used for hard alloys that exhibit significant plastic deformation before fracture, incorrect results may be obtained. In this case, this standard can only be used for comparison purposes.
