Scope

This standard specifies the safety technical requirements for drying chambers (ovens) (hereinafter referred to as drying chambers) that release flammable substances during drying operations. This standard applies to independent drying chambers or other drying equipment used for drying or curing materials or workpieces after pre-treatment with solvents, printing, spraying, impregnation, and other processes. It includes safety technical requirements for the design, manufacture, installation, and use of drying chambers. This standard does not apply to: - Portable heaters used for drying; - Drying ovens for pharmaceuticals and food. For drying chambers or other drying equipment where the concentration of flammable substances released does not exceed 3% of the lower explosive limit under any circumstances, this standard does not need to be complied with.
