Scope

Scope: This document specifies the methods and requirements for assessing the appearance quality of concrete structures in highway bridges and culverts. This document is applicable to the assessment of the appearance quality during the construction period of all-grade highway bridges and box-type structures in Jiangsu Province; it is not applicable to the assessment of the appearance quality of independent super-large bridges. Main technical content: This document is a standard for quality assessment. Its purpose is to achieve the transition from qualitative to quantitative judgment of concrete appearance quality by formulating reasonable technical indicators. To this end, this document is based on the "Code for Quality Acceptance of Concrete Structural Engineering" (GB 50204-2015) and the "Standards for Quality Inspection and Evaluation of Highway Engineering" (JTG F80/1-2017). During the preparation, the weight of various defects in concrete appearance quality, the calculation method of scoring for individual components, and the grade range were given priority consideration to reasonably reflect the actual level of concrete appearance quality in the province, highlighting the principles of "reasonableness and feasibility". This document clearly defines the grade and evaluation methods for concrete appearance quality defects in highway bridges and culverts, filling the gap of lacking quantitative indicators for concrete appearance quality inspection and evaluation in the transportation industry, and supplementing and refining the existing industry standards.
