Scope

This part of GB/Z 20996 provides general guidance on the steady-state performance requirements of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. It focuses on the steady-state performance of HVDC systems with two-ended 12-pulse converters (see Figure 1), which are composed of two three-phase converter bridges. It does not include multi-terminal HVDC transmission systems. Both ends of the converter stations consider using thyristor valves as semiconductor converter valves, and have the capability of bidirectional power transmission. This part does not consider the use of diode converter valves.
