Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product models, basic requirements, technical requirements, product marking, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage of elliptical gear flowmeters (hereinafter referred to as flowmeters). This standard applies to elliptical gear flowmeters for measuring liquids, which consist of a flow transmitter and a display section and can display either cumulative flow or instantaneous flow. It does not apply to elliptical gear flowmeters for measuring gaseous media.
