GB/T 9999.2-2018 China standard serial number—Part 2:ISSN

Scope

This part of GB/T 9999 specifies the structure, distribution, and usage rules of the Chinese Standard Serial Publication Number, its display position and method, as well as the management and maintenance of related metadata and systems.
This part applies to any continuous resources published within the People's Republic of China, including traditional periodicals, newspapers, annual publications, and other continuous publications, as well as broader continuous resources, that is, publications issued continuously on any medium without a predetermined end time.
Each Chinese Standard Serial Publication Number is a unique identifier for a specific continuous publication or continuous resource on another specific medium. This part also provides a mechanism for "ISSN linking" (ISSN-L), which provides a link or connection between different versions of the same continuous resource on different media.
For various books, audio and video products, music publications, audiovisual works, and musical works that already have a numbering system, a Chinese Standard Serial Publication Number can be added in addition to their own standard numbers if such documents belong to a certain continuous resource.
