Scope
This standard specifies the fuel consumption limits for light commercial vehicles. This standard applies to N1 class vehicles powered by spark-ignition engines or compression-ignition engines with a maximum design speed of 50 km/h or more, and M2 class vehicles with a maximum design total mass of not more than 3,500 kg. This standard does not apply to vehicles that cannot run on gasoline or diesel, as well as vehicles with specialized operating devices (such as road sweepers, sprinklers, armored cash transport vehicles, etc.) and special vehicles such as fire engines, police cars, engineering rescue vehicles, and ambulances.
