Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the type, dimensions, appearance, surface roughness, materials and hardness, marking, and packaging of indexable helical groove shallow hole drills with a 2° beveled flat shank, a beveled flat shank, a Morse taper shank, and a TMG21 shank (hereinafter referred to as shallow hole drills). This standard applies to shallow hole drills with a diameter of 16 mm to 82 mm, a drilling depth not exceeding three times the diameter of the drill bit, and coolant injected through the tool body, equipped with pocket hardened alloy indexable inserts.
