Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the specular gloss of paper and cardboard using a parallel beam of light at an incidence angle of 75°. This standard is applicable to flat paper and cardboard with a gloss level of less than 65. For paper and cardboard with a gloss level of less than 20, this standard is the preferred choice. This standard can also be used to measure materials containing optical brighteners.
