Scope
This standard specifies the classification, structural dimensions, technical requirements, testing and inspection, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of shipboard gangways.
This standard applies to single-section gangways, multi-section gangways, retractable gangways, and gangways used in combination with pilot ladders (hereinafter referred to as pilot gangways) on all types of ships.
