Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product models and basic parameters, technical requirements, testing, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of industrial battery charging and rectifying equipment (hereinafter referred to as charging and rectifying equipment). This standard applies to charging and rectifying equipment used in industrial settings with a DC output voltage not exceeding 1,000 V and a DC power of not less than 10 kW per power unit, as well as charging and rectifying equipment composed of one or multiple power units. It also applies to charging and rectifying equipment installed as accessories in other equipment. Note: Charging and rectifying equipment is used for charging or discharging rechargeable batteries, providing battery charging or discharging for battery formation and similar equipment, and adopts plug connections, cable connections, or permanent connections. This standard does not apply to battery chargers for fire alarm and fire-fighting systems, household battery chargers, automotive starting battery chargers, battery chargers for driving centrifugal ignition pumps, or equipment using battery chargers for other system applications. The rapid charging in this standard also does not apply to charging lead-acid flooded batteries.
