Scope

This part of GB/T 2423 provides a test method for simulating the impact effects caused by rough handling or maintenance during the use of equipment samples. To simulate the collision effects that samples may experience during transportation as loosely restrained cargo, the Ee test (bounce test) method should be used for evaluation; similarly, to simulate the impact effects that samples may experience when installed in equipment, the Ea test (impact test) method should be used for evaluation. This test is generally only applicable to small and medium-sized equipment that may be subjected to rough handling, and only to the corners and surfaces that are likely to be subjected to impact risks. Generally, equipment that is frequently handled and used (such as field equipment and spare parts) may be subjected to the aforementioned impacts. However, when they form an integral part of a permanent installation, they are usually not subjected to such impacts and therefore do not require such tests. This test is not applicable to easily damaged, unprotected, or irregularly shaped equipment (such as aircraft head radars), as these equipment are usually mounted on a bracket or a carrying frame when removed from a fixed installation. However, when these equipment are in their transport packaging boxes, or on their own brackets, or in carrying frames, and are considered as a whole, this test is also applicable. For equipment with only one mounting surface (such as a standard base), the test is usually conducted only on that surface. The impact test involves fixing the sample on a test stand. In the tilt-fall and overturn tests, free fall tests, repeated free fall tests, and bounce tests, the sample is tested in a free state.
