Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, test reports, usage and maintenance instructions, and markings for indoor, outdoor, or indoor-outdoor use of compressed air foam fire extinguishing systems, and describes the test methods. This document applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of fixed compressed air foam fire extinguishing systems for industrial sites and civil buildings. This document does not apply to the technical safety requirements for driving devices such as air compressor units and compressed gas cylinder groups, as well as pump groups. Note 1: This document does not include the special hazards caused by improper use of compressed air foam fire extinguishing systems. Note 2: This document does not include the hazards related to any type of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or other equipment, which shall be handled in accordance with the corresponding standards for such equipment. Note 3: This document does not include the hazards caused by noise from compressed air foam fire extinguishing systems.
