Scope
This standard specifies two methods for measuring the degassing of insulating liquids using different instruments. By applying a sufficiently high electrical stress to a degassing chamber with a special geometric shape, the gas at the oil-gas interface in the chamber generates a discharge. Under the action of the discharge, the tendency of the insulating liquid to release or absorb gas is measured. The methods specified in this standard are applicable to the determination of the technical indicators of commercial oil and the selection of insulating liquids, as well as to product development and quality assurance. Note: Due to the use of high voltage, hydrogen, and solvents, attention should be paid to relevant national safety regulations.
