Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, test overview, test methods, and test reports for the elasticity constant testing of fiber-reinforced composites. This standard applies to elasticity constant testing of unidirectionally fiber-reinforced [0]ns, [90]ns, and [0/90]ns polymer-based composite laminates, as well as warp-weft fabric-reinforced polymer-based composite laminates. The measured elasticity constants are primarily used for structural analysis and design, including longitudinal, transverse, and normal tensile elasticity moduli (E1, E2, E3), Poisson's ratios (μ12, μ13, μ23), and shear moduli (G12, G13, G23).
