Scope
This document specifies the general requirements, materials, temperature of parts in contact with the human body, structure, strength, torque, and durability of walking aids, as well as their appearance, stability, force on human tissue, packaging, and test reports. It establishes ergonomic principles, provides information from manufacturers, and describes testing methods.
This document applies to walking aids used by users weighing no less than 35 kg as daily assistive devices for walking.
This document does not apply to wheeled walking aids specified in ISO 11199-2.
