Scope

This standard specifies the chemical analysis methods for aluminate cements. The standard only prescribes reference methods for the determination of the fusible loss of aluminate cements, the determination of insoluble matter, the determination of total sulfur, the determination of potassium oxide and sodium oxide, and the determination of fluoride ions. For the determination of silica, the determination of iron oxide, the determination of titanium dioxide, the determination of aluminum oxide, the determination of calcium oxide, and the determination of magnesium oxide, both reference methods and alternative methods are prescribed. This standard applies to aluminate cements and other aluminate-based cements suitable for using this method, as well as other materials specified to use this standard.
