Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the test and calculation methods for determining the CO2, CO, and HC emissions of automobiles under simulated urban and suburban driving cycles, and calculating the fuel consumption using the carbon balance method, as well as the inspection and judgment methods for production consistency. 1.2 This standard applies to M1 class, N1 class, and M2 class vehicles with a maximum design speed of 50 km/h or more, powered by spark-ignition engines or compression-ignition engines, and with a maximum design total mass of not more than 3,500 kg. 1.3 This standard does not apply to vehicles that cannot run on gasoline or diesel.
