GB/T 32552-2016 Automated full peripheral ultrasonic thickness testing of seamless and welded (except submerged arc-welded) steel tubes
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the inspection requirements, inspection methods, and calibration procedures for the full-circumference ultrasonic wall thickness measurement of seamless and welded steel pipes (except for submerged arc welded steel pipes).
Note 1: Full-circumference inspection does not mean a 100% scan of the steel pipe surface.
Note 2: Thickness measurement can be carried out simultaneously with full-circumference layered inspection (ISO 10893-8) that meets the inspection requirements using the same ultrasonic probe. In this case, according to ISO 108938, the coverage rate of the steel pipe surface scan is determined by the required minimum detection size of the layered defects.
This standard is also applicable to the inspection of circular hollow sections.
The thickness measurement range applicable to this standard is a nominal outer diameter greater than or equal to 25.4 mm, with a minimum wall thickness of 2.6 mm, unless otherwise agreed upon.
