Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for drum and toner cartridges used in electrostatic copying (including multifunctional) devices, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to the manufacture of new and remanufactured drum and toner cartridges for use in black-and-white and color electrostatic copiers/printers and multifunctional all-in-one devices (including laser and LED types) with copying as the primary function. The manufacture of other products with only drum components is referenced for use.
This document does not apply to the manufacture of drum and toner cartridges for large-format devices, or for copying/printing devices with a copying/printing speed greater than 70 pages per minute.
