Scope

This standard specifies the immunity performance standards and test intensities for elevators, escalators, and automatic walkways to be permanently installed in buildings, including the basic safety requirements related to their electromagnetic compatibility environment. These provisions represent the basic electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
This standard addresses the normal electromagnetic compatibility conditions in residential, office, and industrial buildings, but does not include more severe electromagnetic compatibility environments, which require additional research, such as:
—— Radio base stations;
—— Railways and subways;
—— Heavy industrial factories;
—— Power stations.
This standard is based on the commonly known hazards and dangerous situations related to the electromagnetic compatibility of elevators, escalators, and automatic walkways when they are designed by their manufacturers and used under foreseeable conditions.
This standard is based on the environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, etc.) related to the electromagnetic compatibility performance specified in the relevant standards for elevators, escalators, and automatic walkways. However,
—— The performance standards and test intensities for devices or combinations of devices in general functional circuits do not include very low probability of occurrence cases.
—— This standard does not apply to other devices that have been proven to comply with electromagnetic compatibility regulations or are unrelated to the safety of elevators, escalators, or automatic walkways, such as lighting devices, communication devices, etc.
This standard does not apply to elevators, escalators, automatic walkways, and related safety components manufactured before the implementation date of this standard.
