Scope

This standard specifies the performance requirements for starting devices (starters and triggers) used with tubular fluorescent lamps and other discharge lamps powered by AC sources with voltages not exceeding 1,000 V and frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. These starting devices are capable of generating starting pulses of no more than 5 kV. This standard is used in conjunction with IEC 613471 and IEC 6134721.
