Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and tests for the design of overhead contact line systems, structural components, their structural calculations and inspections, installation design of assembled components, and the requirements and tests for the design of individual parts. This standard applies to electric traction overhead contact line systems used in railway and urban rail transit systems (including trolleybuses). This standard applies to newly built overhead contact line systems and the overall renovation of existing overhead contact line systems. This standard does not apply to overhead contact rail systems located beside the running tracks.
