Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for the reverse transcription nested polymerase chain reaction (RT-nPCR) method specific to the swine fever virus.
This standard is applicable to the detection of swine fever virus nucleic acid in pig organs, blood, feces, and cell cultures that may be infected with the swine fever virus, and can be used for the diagnosis and monitoring of swine fever.
The swine fever virus RT-nPCR method specified in this standard cannot distinguish between the wild strain of the swine fever virus that has been infected and the immune vaccine strain.
