GB/T 18216.12-2025 Electrical safety in low voltage distribution systems up to 1 000 V AC and 1 500 V DC—Equipment for testing, measuring or monitoring of protective measures—Part 12:Power metering and monitoring devices(PMD)
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the requirements for power measurement and monitoring devices (PMDs) in distribution systems for measuring and monitoring various electrical quantities, with the option of measuring other external signals. These requirements also specify the performance of PMDs in single-phase and three-phase AC or DC distribution systems with a rated voltage of 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC or lower. These devices can be installed permanently or be portable, and they are intended for use indoors and/or outdoors. According to this document, power measurement and monitoring devices (PMDs) provide additional safety information, which helps verify electrical installations and improve the performance of distribution systems. In addition, this document specifies the measurement function requirements specifically for measuring and monitoring various electrical parameters, called power measurement and monitoring functions (PMFs), which can be embedded into devices (EPMFs) that are not PMDs and whose primary function is not power measurement and monitoring. Appendix H describes the requirements for power measurement and monitoring functions (PMFs) and the additional requirements for devices embedded with power measurement and monitoring functions (EPMFs). The power measurement and monitoring devices (PMDs) described in this document are suitable for general industrial and commercial applications. Power measurement and monitoring devices (PMDs) can be associated with sensing devices, including but not limited to instrument transformers that comply with the IEC 64869 series of standards or sensors that comply with IEC 60688. This document does not address aspects of functional safety and network security.
