Scope

This document specifies the method of determining the interfacial tension of insulating liquids using the ring method under near-equilibrium conditions. To obtain the true value, the interfacial tension value is measured 180 seconds after the interface is formed. This document is applicable to mineral insulating oils and synthetic ester insulating oils.
