Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements, inspection methods, and inspection procedures for ultrasonic testing of ropeway drive axles, as well as the evaluation of inspection results. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of in-service forged steel drive axles using the ultrasonic pulse reflection method from the end face. Other in-service forged and rolled axles can also be used for reference. This standard does not apply to drive axles made of austenitic coarse-grained steel.
