Scope

This standard specifies the iodometric method for semi-quantitative determination of the free phenol content in phenolic molding products. Note: This standard does not provide the determination of the absolute amount of free phenol. The free phenol content in molding products is mainly affected by the curing degree. When it is necessary to consider the contamination of food or other materials caused by contact with molding products, it is also very important to determine the free phenol content.
