Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the oil content of petroleum wax. This method is applicable to petroleum wax with a freezing point above 30°C and an oil content of less than 15%. For certain petroleum waxes with an oil content greater than 5%, which cannot be completely dissolved in acetone and will separate into layers, this method is not applicable. 1.2 This standard adopts the International System of Units (SI units). 1.3 This standard may involve certain hazardous materials, equipment, and operations, but it does not intentionally provide recommendations on all related safety issues.
