Scope

This standard specifies two methods for determining the linear density of yarns removed from fabrics. One is a method for determining the linear density of yarns removed from fabrics without removing non-fiber materials. The other is a method for determining the linear density of yarns removed from fabrics after removing non-fiber materials. One of the two methods can be selected as needed.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the linear density of yarns removed from most woven fabrics, but it is not applicable to fabrics that cannot eliminate the curling on the yarns under certain stretching tension, and fabrics whose yarns are damaged during the weaving, finishing, and analysis process of this method.
