Scope

This standard specifies the classification, designation methods and codes, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations of hot-rolled wide steel strips and their sheared steel plates used in oil and gas pipelines (hereinafter referred to as steel strips and steel plates), as well as their technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, and quality certificates.
This standard applies to steel strips for oil and gas pipelines produced in accordance with standards such as ISO 3183, GB/T 9711, and API Spec 5L, as well as steel strips for other fluid transmission welded pipes with similar requirements.
