Scope

This standard specifies the terminology, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and quality certificates and contract (or order form) content for seamless tubes made of nickel-titanium shape memory alloys used in super-elastic medical devices and surgical implants.
This standard applies to seamless tubes with a nominal nickel content of 54.5% to 57.0% and an outer diameter not exceeding 10 mm and a wall thickness not exceeding 2 mm.
