Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage of explosion-proof valve electric devices (hereinafter referred to as explosion-proof electric devices).
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of electric devices with an explosion-proof type of D, a category of Class II, an explosive gas mixture of Class A, B, and C, and a maximum allowable surface temperature of 85 °C (T6) to 135 °C (T4).
