Scope

This document describes a method for measuring the content of high-absorbency polyacrylic acid powder in airborne dust by atomic absorption spectrometry. Polypropylene acrylic acid dust samples are collected using polytetrafluoroethylene filters and porous plastic liners in polystyrene acrylonitrile air monitoring boxes. This document is suitable for measuring high-absorbency powders in the range of 0.2 μg to 60 μg (with a detection limit of approximately 0.2 μg). Note: This test is used to determine low levels of sodium and requires high-purity handling conditions. The use of deionized water/distilled water with extremely low sodium content is crucial for the success of the test analysis.
