Scope

This document describes the method of maintaining the minimum oxygen volume fraction for the combustion of small vertical sheet materials under specified environmental temperature and oxygen/nitrogen gas flow rate conditions, where the gas flow rate is higher than that specified in ISO 4589-2.
Note: The results are expressed in terms of the high gas flow rate oxygen index (HOI).
This document specifies the equipment for measuring the HOI.
This document is applicable to sheet materials with a thickness of no more than 2 mm and flexible panels vertically supported by a specific sample holder.
